Mt. Anonymous Part 3

I wanted to make one more visit to the Mt. Anonymous area before it gets too cold (and, worse, dark too early for me to complete a lengthy afternoon run). Today offered the perfect opportunity. It was reasonably warm, very sunny and calm, and I had some free time this afternoon. Perfect!

Acadia Adventures 2025 – Day 1

This year we wanted to test out an earlier departure time, so we left home around 3:15pm. Surprisingly this worked out well for the first half of the trip, which took us to Vernon Center in Connecticut. We arrived there just before 7:30pm, so we were early enough to take our pick of places to get a bite to eat, rather than being relegated to Burger King, which is the only place we could find that’s open past 10:00pm (and we arrived well after that time last year).

Massive Crevassive: Death Hike XXVI

“Subdued” is a good description of this year’s Death Hike (as much in opposition to the term “Death Hike” as that may sound). That was fine with both me and Ken, since we both have been swamped for over a year with various projects. A simple, relatively quiet hike in the woods was exactly what we needed.
