Thanks to RenegadeJane, I discovered that there was a letterbox very close to her The Love Shack and Beyond geocache. I probably wouldn’t have remembered to check the letterboxing site otherwise. Spirit Bear was an easy find for me while Aaron, who was feeling sick at the time, rested on the porch of the “Love Shack”. After a rough winter it was especially nice to have such a warm, springlike day for our hike.

Hi!
Well, there was no snow for us today (finally!). It was really a beautiful day for a walk, and this was our first hike of the year in shorts. We combined this cache hunt with the search for the nearby “Love Shack and Beyond” cache. We had no trouble locating the cache, and everything inside was in fine condition (except that, as Rich noted, several pages of the logbook have come loose). This time we traded a small Lego set for a state park map. Nearby are several great spots to rest in the sunshine, so after replacing the cache that’s exactly what we did! Thanks for a great hike in a park that we’ll be visiting again to explore further.

Hi, Jane and friends!
What a fun cache. We started from your suggested parking area and took an easy stroll up to the shack. While Aaron rested on the porch, I found the letterbox, and then we searched for the first stage of your cache. We had no trouble finding it, and it’s still in good condition. Then we sat for a while on the porch of the shack and enjoyed the lovely warm day! The cabin itself is so neat—I love finding structures like that in the woods. On our way to the second part, we searched for another cache in the park and then finished up by finding your main cache. It was an easy find, though we felt we were being watched by some kids on the nearby rocks. I waited till they left before pulling out the cache. Though the bags were wet, the container was dry inside, and everything was in fine condition. The wind picked up suddenly while we were looking through the contents, but we managed to catch everything before it blew away. 🙂 We didn’t trade anything this time. Thanks so much for a great hike and hunt in a very beautiful area!
